Education and CPD.

Continuing Professional Development

Each therapy group may have slightly different nominal hours. In order to maintain registration on the GRCCT National Register the practitioner will undertake to have completed the required CPD as determined by the therapy Lead Body. A minimum of 2 hours must be therapy specific to each therapy group in which the practitioner is listed on the National Register. A maximum of 50% can be generic including reflection or research.

Evidence of on-going CPD is a requirement for renewal of National Registration.

Where CPD is required to maintain membership of the professional association to which the registrant belongs, the GRCCT may choose not to check the CPD, but will validate the registrant’s membership of the professional association upon application for renewal of National Registration.

Registrants undertake that within 36 months of admission to the GRCCT National Register, they will have completed sufficient continuing professional development to ensure that they are practising in accordance with the National Occupational Standard as defined by each therapy group in which they are listed on the National Register. For some registrants this may require a substantial level of training.

If you are unsure as to the status of your award or qualification in relation to the National Occupational Standard please consult your profession association or the GRCCT Administration Department.
